Max didn't get 'penalised' for the Tsunoda incident as he left enough space and with other cars on the road, said it was 'safer' not to move and Tsunoda himself agreed that Max had left space so they decided not to punish after speaking to both Drivers.

He did get reprimanded (twice) and RBR got a tiny fine - but I think they were lenient in terms of Grid penalties because of not reaching Q1 - at least that's how it seems to me.

EDIT: Sorry, I got mixed up between the Tsunoda and Sargeant reports.

Stewards' verdict on Tsunoda incident
Just prior to Car 22 [Tsunod] passing Car 1 [Verstappen], the driver of Car 1 saw the car behind approaching and moved to the left, however quite late. The team admitted that there was poor communication on its part and that it did not advise its driver until Car 22 was alongside. The Stewards reviewed a number of impeding and alleged impeding incident from this current season and consistent with previous decisions in relation to the severity of the breach, impose a penalty of a Reprimand on the driver and a fine on the Competitor. It was noted that the representative of Car 22 chose not to attend the Hearing.

Stewards' verdict on Sargeant incident at T17-18
The driver of Car 1 stated that he was surrounded by many other cars on preparation laps, some of which chose to overtake him on the left and some on the right, and therefore he decided the safest option was for him to drive straight and keep the line, leaving a car width on his right. He stated he felt any movement to the left or right could have caused a collision with one of the cars around him. The Stewards accept these statements. The driver of Car 2 stated that he did not believe that the driver of Car 1 was at fault and that there was room for him to pass. We therefore determine that the driver of Car 1 did not unnecessarily impede Car 2.

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

@KAIRU @themightyant The track change was forced on them by some construction work in that area. As it stands, it will return to it's normal layout for the future. However as mentioned, if the change results in more overtaking and a more entertaining race there could end up being discussions about possibly keeping the change.

Yeah super pleased Stroll was able to get out of that unhurt but probably similar to Max's highspeed crash at Silverstone, time out purely due to the g-force experienced. I've only just put the coverage on, has there been any mention of if Aston Martin are actually running a second car? I'm not sure they could get a car ready in time after that but I'm sometimes surprised how much they can do in a short time.

Looking forward to this one. I'd love an all Brit podium, Lando, Lewis and George. I'd take any order but would like to see Lando get his first win soon.

@BearsEatBeets I don’t think Aston are allowed to run a second car. I believe they’re allowed to bring in a reserve driver but only before the beginning of qualifying. This is why Liam Lawson could replace Danny Ric at Zandvoort. So, since Stroll’s crash was during qualifying, a reserve driver is unable to come in and take his place.

@KAIRU I wasn't sure if they could start from the back but that makes sense. Thanks

@BearsEatBeets Yeah, if it was Lance in the car then there’d be no issues and he’d probably start at the back or in maybe even in the pit-lane. Considering he’s still feeling the effects from yesterday though it makes sense for him not to run today.

Bernie just mentioned it as I started typing but it sounded like Yuki retired because of a puncture? Don’t most drivers nurse that to the pits to change? Curious to hear more on that.

@BearsEatBeets Yeah, really unsure about that. Must be some underlying issue there or something.

Maybe Yuki just couldn’t be bothered! 😂

@KAIRU Having heard a lot of his radio calls in the past I wouldn't be surprised.

Curious if Leclerc will get a penalty for backing up the pack like Lando did in Canada (for the pitstops).

Got to love seeing Red Bulls being overtaken. Go Lando

@BearsEatBeets I think it was borderline from Leclerc but considering he lost a few positions, he was an architect of his own demise. Perhaps the race directors have noticed that.

Sainz and Norris one and two would do my fantasy team a solid!

The Mercedes charge is on!! Is a 1-2 going to happen? 👀

Best finish all season hands down. Got to say genius of Sainz to give Lando DRS to help him hold off the Mercs. Gutted for George and I know I wanted a Brit 1,2,3 but can't not be happy with that result/podium.

Wow! Great end to the GP. Top 4 all within a couple of seconds going into the last lap. Russell binned it pushing too hard, felt he should have pushed earlier. Thought Mercedes had it but Sainz, whether deliberately or not, giving Lando DRS probably saved it for him. The bromance rolls on 😂

@BearsEatBeets @themightyant Proper genius from Sainz and definitely deliberate to give Norris DRS. Bloody brilliant race.

@themightyant I'm pretty sure I remember catching a radio chat of Ferrari telling Sainz Lando had got into DRS distance and he replied 'it's on purpose' (or something like that).

Yeah I think George possibly pushed in to the new tyres harder than Lewis so he was starting to lose a bit in the last couple of laps unlike Lewis.

@BearsEatBeets @KAIRU agreed, great finish after a slow start.

Would like to see what happened to George again in more detail. Looked like a lock up pushing too hard to me. He’ll be pissed but that’s racing

themightyant

KAIRU

@themightyant I think he hit the wall. Lando just said he did the same thing but George did it worse. Still want to see the on-board though!

@KAIRU @themightyant I wonder if Lando taking a slightly wider line and accidently kissing the wall is what caused George to subconsciously just follow the line but unfortunately a tad worse. All four were probably driving on the edge and that's what made it so good.
Really hope this levelling of competitiveness continues to the next races.

@KAIRU Yes just seen it, Russell had a big clip had to counter steer and then nowhere to go but the wall. A mental lapse, easy to do that late in a race. Shame for him, he’ll learn.

@BAMozzy just seen the pre-race info. Thanks. Where did you get it? Annoyingly the F1 app doesn’t seem to have any of that detail. Thought it would be there of all places.

Not sure I fully agree that swerving out of the way last minute to allow a car coming through is ok. Poor communication not good enough. Will lead to an accident eventually. The onboard view was bloody scary.
