In case you missed the announcement earlier this year, Still Wakes the Deep is the next game from The Chinese Room, the makers of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Dear Esther. A horror adventure set entirely on an oil rig in the North Sea, it's already a horrifying proposal, but it looks like there will be other terrors to deal with.

A new gameplay trailer shows a couple of scenes from the game. The first has you navigating walkways above the choppy water as the structure is seemingly collapsing around you. The second takes the action inside, where you'll navigate claustrophobic corridors and dip underwater to progress — all the while, an unseen person wails horribly.

It looks like this will be a super atmospheric game. As we said, an oil rig seems like a perfect setting for a horror game, and going by this video, The Chinese Room looks as though it's onto something. Still Wakes the Deep is coming to PS5 in early 2024.
