Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5

If you're swinging around between dizzyingly tall skyscrapers, it should be expected you'll need to worry about smacking into the ground at some stage. Fortunately for Spider-Man, it's almost never a concern, but gravity doesn't care whether you're superhuman or not. Anyway, it seems that, for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games is implementing a feature that may or may not please long-time fans: fall damage.

Yes, as spotted by YouTuber Caboose during his hands-on time with the sequel, fall damage will be included for the first time. While looking through the game's options, he noticed a toggle for fall damage, meaning two things — firstly, Spidey 2 will include this feature, and secondly, it'll be optional.

In Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, taking damage after falling from a great height is not a concern. There is no fall damage in the previous games, which is fine because you're playing as superheroes and it might feel a bit odd for your health bar to take a hit if you land from slightly too high up. On the other hand, some players feel as though fall damage would add an extra layer of skill, particularly while web swinging. It appears as though Insomniac is aiming to please everyone, then, by adding fall damage and making it an optional choice in the settings.

So, however you feel about this feature, it's nice to know it's there if you want it, and can be disabled if you don't. What do you think of fall damage in Marvel's Spider-Man 2? Land safely in the comments section below.
