In a year filled to bursting with genuine Game of the Year contenders, Alan Wake 2 has added another candidate to the list. The game, itself a sequel to an old Xbox 360 exclusive, was published by Epic Games – and developer Remedy has been singing its partner’s praises on Twitter, noting that the company “really cares”.
“Shout out to Epic Publishing,” wrote communications director Thomas Puha. “They let us make the game we wanted. [They were] nothing but supportive. Epic's production team especially killed it on Alan Wake 2. They really care. Never have I read so much good feedback from milestones and have producers play so much of the game constantly.”
We awarded Alan Wake 2 a rare 10/10 in our review, noting: “With stunning visuals, pitch-perfect tone and atmosphere, brilliant pacing, and a fascinating mystery to sink your teeth into, there are no twists or turns about it: Alan Wake 2 is an all-timer.” Looks like that Epic Games publishing deal turned out all right in the end, then, eh?

Only a few hours in but yes its easily a GOTY contender from what i've played.
Beat it a couple hours ago. I don't know which game I liked more...this or Baldur's Gate. There were a lot of bugs, most minor, but some much worse, like not being able to get into the Mind Place at the start of the game when it prompts you too, and some things like Words of Power not getting marked off the map when you've already done them, but all in all it was amazing.
10/10 game, and everything I wanted from an Alan Wake sequel, this is the Return.
In danish "puha" is kid-friendly slang for "poop".
Yeah, I'm just over an hour in and can already say this game has me gripped and eager to know what happens next! It is just starting to get weird, as is typical for these devs, which I LOVE btw!
Breath of fresh air. This game is so different from pretty much everything else and, while Spider-Man 2 was good, I'm already enjoying this game much more! Alan Wake 2 and Baldur's Gate 3 are not just my top 2 games of the year but also potentially my top 2 games of the decade! So far, BG3 trumps everything I have played thus far but, AW2 is already displaying signs of an absolute masterpiece! Ican see this being a serious competition for BG3, which is nuts as that game was damn near perfect and, I think this years' GOTY is going to be a seriously difficult one to predict!
