Gran Turismo 7 has been growing on a monthly basis, but series creator Kazunori Yamauchi promises a “big update” is coming for November, with at least seven new cars. The industry veteran posted his traditional silhouette picture on Twitter, seemingly confirming the upcoming addition of the Lexus LFA, Nissan Skyline GT-R NISMO 400R, and 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which was briefly glimpsed in the game’s recent movie.
The image also appears to tease the Dodge Charger, Dodge Challenger Demon, and Tesla Model 3. The community is still divided on the exact model of the final car, but it appears to be a permutation of the W201 Mercedes-Benz 190E. All seven vehicles will be added for free as part of an upcoming patch, although you obviously will need to earn enough in-game currency to add them to your collection of driveable vehicles.
Given the sheer number of cars here, it’s possible the update may include more features, like single player Café content, Scapes, and much more. Obviously, the holy grail would be the addition of a new track or two, as well as the long-awaited integration of Polyphony Digital’s new award-winning AI technology, Sophy. Of coruse, we’ll need to await the full update announcement for more details on the exact nature of the patch.

I would love some fresh tracks to race around in VR. Amazing game.
Gran Turismo is an incredible driving simulator game.I think it's insane that the community can tell what cars those are just by that image.
Cars are not a major update. It makes little difference to a race unfortunately. New tracks are a major update.
I know people have been hoping for the Lexus LFA and a newer Gr3 model is cool too, even if it is a Porsche. I'm excited to see what else the update brings. Hopefully it wont be a disappointment.
New cars are indeed no major update, that is like saying all the new skins in Fortnite are major updates.
This is not even worth a news article.
Damn, what's with all the hate on a racing game adding a fair number of cars? I mean its not all the patch notes but I'll probably assume its just a bunch of old farts who don't play online lol
I’ve got 393 cars, need more tracks/championship/single player content! Basically just remake GT3 in this engine and I’d be ecstatic
Things that would make for a major update.
I'm not saying I need all of that or expect most of it but if a major update is coming it has to be more than just a the typical update with a few extra cars.
Still my most played game over the last 2 years though.
Sorry, but adding seven cars that even fewer people are going to drive is not a big update.
@AldusRavencorn A ‘24 hour day/night cycle’ exists in the game already, doesn’t it? Albeit only on a select few tracks.
I agree with pretty much all of the other points you’ve mentioned. Those would be a big update, not seven cars. 😂
@AldusRavencorn a lot of those things you mentioned won't happen until the ditch the PS4 version. Huge mistake making this a last gen game.
Got my platinum for this just last night. Second time I’ve done it. It’s an absolutely brilliant game where the support has also been second to none. This is very intriguing and will be leaving GT7 exactly where it is on my SSD. Bring it Polyphony
@thefourfoldroot1 Agreed I just wish they would bring the fantasy tracks over from gt4
7 cars does not a big update make.
Apricot raceway and Autumn ring would be absolutely epic
A new Porsche always melts my heart.
I’m very grateful for the continued support on this game but adding new cars is not keeping me engaged personally. I’d like some more single player stuff (akin to GT3) and more tracks.
I think things to do are more important than things to look at.
Cool word up son
I love this game so much in VR, 180 hours in VR which have mostly been in sport mode.
Looking forward to trying out the new cars. I believe we'll be getting at least one new track and some new single player content(rumoured to be more missions). It's good that they have competition from Forza now, hopefully it will keep PD on their toes and give us even more content.
My wish is a Race D that has qualifying, two mandatory tyres with dynamic weather!
None of those cars look like a Ford GT90 to me Kaz 😡. I do hope we get a new track although unlikely.
@TrickyDicky99 all of that it's possible in GT7, the ps4 has nothing to do with it.
But good for you, still banging the same drum about cross gen games. It's funny your reading articles about games you will never play.
Has to be new tracks being added.
It's nice having new cars and some new tracks would be awesome but what I feel the game really needs is dozens more single player events. I remember the old games having single make championships, like the Yaris Cup for example, and things like that is what the game misses. Just my thoughts.
If and when they get the Sophy AI implemented fully that would make a huge difference too
Have they introduced an offline mode yet
@AldusRavencorn Same GT7 is my most played PS5 game and agree with all of your suggestions, most vital for me are the customisable HUD and some new tracks would be nice. Penalty system in Sport mode urgently needs updating as it's currently inconsistent in how and when players are penalised
Just got the platinum in this a couple of days ago!
I think there must be more than the 7 cars, saying major update indicates new modes and/or track.
With the absolute monumental amount of effort it takes to make car models these days, I'd say 7 of them is certainly a newsworthy update. They're not just recycling models as per certain other racing franchises.
Very excited for the LFA, hope the sound design is good, that car certainly deserves it
Rumor going around that the Gilles Villeneuve track will be included in this update. That would be awesome. I hope we get new tracks.
@Serialsid Sophy AI is 100% not possible on PS4, hence when they introduced it for a limited time it was only on PS5.
And the same goes dynamic weather too as as rain was limited to certain tracks on GT Sport too.
I think they should stop giving away cars in updates now. Their resources are being taken up when they could be producing new or classic tracks.
It's only a small grumble mind, polyphony have given away a fantastic amount for free, I platinumed it long ago and still play it regularly. This is one instance where I would happily pay for some dlc with several tracks and new single player content.
