Considering shared universes are all the rage these days, many fans were left to wonder whether a meeting between Spider-Man and Wolverine might be possible in the Insomniac-Verse. Well, fear not, true believers, as Marvel's Spider-Man 2 director Brian Intihar has officially set the record straight.

In an interview with Kinda Funny, host Greg Miller asked Intihar whether the upcoming Wolverine game and Marvel's Spider-Man series take place in the same universe. Intihar replied, "They're all 1048." 1048 refers to a particular iteration of the Marvel universe, confirming they exist in the same continuity.

When asked why Wolverine didn't appear or wasn't referenced in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (or lend a hand during the calamity that befell New York City), Intihar explained that:

"There was a decision not to do it… I think for us, we wanted to let that team cook, and who knows what the future holds, but right now, let's let them do their thing."

Are you surprised by this confirmation, or was it obviously always going to be the case? Let us know what you think Insomniac has in store for us next in the comments section below.
